Creamy Mango Mousse Recipe

A light, fruity, and refreshing dessert that comes together in just a few simple steps. This creamy mango mousse is perfect for summer or any time you’re craving something sweet and tropical.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe mangoes
or about 1 cup of mango puree
  • 1 cup whipping cream
    (heavy cream or double cream)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
(adjust according to the sweetness of your mangoes)
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin (optional)
(for a firmer, more set mousse)

Instructions

1. Make the Mango Puree

  1. Peel the mangoes and remove the flesh from the seed.
  2. Cut the mango flesh into chunks.
  3. Blend until completely smooth.
You should end up with around 1 cup of thick mango puree.

2. Whip the Cream

  1. Add the whipping cream to a chilled mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sugar.
  3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream until it reaches stiff peaks and looks light and fluffy.

3. Prepare the Gelatin (Optional)

  1. Place 1 tablespoon of gelatin in a small bowl.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of hot water.
  3. Stir well until the gelatin fully dissolves.
  4. Allow it to cool slightly so it is no longer hot, but still liquid.

4. Combine the Mango and Cream

  1. Gently fold the mango puree into the whipped cream using a spatula.
  2. Mix slowly to keep the mousse light and airy.
  3. If using gelatin, pour the dissolved, cooled gelatin into the mixture.
  4. Fold again until everything is evenly combined and smooth.

5. Chill the Mango Mousse

  1. Spoon or pour the mousse into serving glasses, cups, or a large serving dish.
  2. Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the mousse is well set and chilled.

6. Serve and Enjoy

  • Once firm and cold, your mango mousse is ready to serve.
  • Enjoy it as is, or garnish with:
    • Fresh mango slices
    • Mint leaves
    • A light dusting of grated chocolate or coconut

Enjoy your silky, creamy mango mousse!
