Ultra-Creamy Apple Pie

A rich, custardy twist on classic apple pie, packed with tender apples and a silky cream filling. Simple ingredients, quick prep, and an irresistibly creamy texture.

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a pie dish with butter or nonstick spray.

  2. Layer the apples
Spread the sliced apples evenly in the prepared pie dish, creating a uniform layer.

  3. Make the egg mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and melted butter until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  4. Add dry ingredients
Sprinkle in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir gently until the dry ingredients are just incorporated—do not overmix.

  5. Incorporate the cream
Pour in the heavy cream and whisk or stir until you have a smooth, pourable batter.

  6. Assemble the pie
Pour the creamy batter over the apples, making sure most of the apple slices are covered.

  7. Bake
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.

  8. Serve
Allow the pie to cool slightly. Serve warm, ideally with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.

Tips and Variations

  • For added crunch, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over the top before baking.
  • Drizzle warm caramel sauce over each slice just before serving for a caramel apple pie twist.
