How to Get Streak-Free Windows in Minutes
Want sparkling, streak-free windows without spending all day cleaning? Here’s a simple, fast method to give your glass a flawless, crystal-clear finish.
What You’ll Need
- Bucket filled with warm water
- A few drops of dishwashing liquid
- Optional: a small splash of white vinegar for extra shine and grease-cutting
- Squeegee
- Microfiber cloths (one damp, one dry)
Step-by-Step: Streak-Free Window Cleaning
1. Mix Your Cleaning Solution
Fill your bucket with warm water. Add a small amount of dish soap and stir gently to combine.
For more cleaning power and extra sparkle, pour in a little white vinegar and mix again.
2. Clean the Glass with a Cloth
Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution and wring it out well so it’s just damp, not dripping.
Wipe the entire window surface, working from top to bottom and covering all corners and edges to remove dust, fingerprints, and grime.

3. Use the Squeegee
Right after washing with the cloth, take your squeegee and start at the top of the window.
Pull the squeegee down in smooth, straight strokes.
After each pass, wipe the rubber edge of the squeegee with a dry towel or cloth so it doesn’t leave marks or streaks on the glass.
4. Finish with a Dry Microfiber Cloth
Once you’ve squeegeed the whole window, use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to buff away any remaining drops or light streaks.
Focus on the edges and corners, where water can collect, until the glass looks completely clear.
With these straightforward steps and a few basic tools, you can achieve spotless, streak-free windows quickly and efficiently—leaving your glass looking bright and perfectly clean.
