Dark knuckles and dry, rough hands are common concerns, often caused by frequent friction, lack of moisture, or regular contact with strong cleaning products. This simple homemade scrub gently removes dead skin cells, helps fade dark patches, and delivers deep hydration, leaving your hands smoother, softer, and more radiant. With a few easy-to-find ingredients, you can naturally improve skin tone and texture at home.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or olive oil as an alternative)
- 1 teaspoon shea butter or petroleum jelly (optional for extra moisture)
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and lemon juice, stirring until you get a thick, grainy paste.
-
Add the coconut oil (or olive oil) and mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well blended.

-
If desired, stir in the shea butter or petroleum jelly for added nourishment and hydration.
-
Apply the scrub to your knuckles and hands, gently massaging in circular motions for about 5 minutes to exfoliate the skin.
-
Leave the mixture on your hands for an additional 10 minutes to allow the ingredients to work.
-
Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your hands dry with a soft towel.
-
Finish by applying your regular hand cream or moisturizer to seal in the hydration.
-
For noticeable results, use this scrub 2–3 times per week.
Important Notes
- Do not use this scrub on broken, irritated, or very sensitive skin.
