CABBAGE AND EGGS

Simple Cabbage and Egg Skillet

A quick, satisfying dish made with just a few everyday ingredients. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a light dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (or a mix of both)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup cabbage, lightly packed and finely shredded
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Warm the pan
    Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add fat
    Add the butter, olive oil, or a combination of both. Swirl or spread it so it coats the bottom of the pan.

  3. Cook the garlic
    Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 20 seconds, just until fragrant. Do not let it burn.

  4. Sauté the cabbage
    Add the shredded cabbage. Cook, stirring often, for 3–5 minutes until it softens.

    • For extra flavor, continue cooking another 1–2 minutes until the cabbage begins to caramelize lightly.
  5. Spread the cabbage
    Once softened, spread the cabbage into an even, thin layer across the pan.

  6. Add the eggs
    Pour the beaten eggs evenly over the cabbage, tilting the pan gently so the eggs spread out and coat the mixture.

  7. Cook the eggs
    Let the eggs cook undisturbed for about 15–20 seconds, then gently fold the mixture over itself until the eggs are just set and fully cooked.

  8. Season and serve
    Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Remove from the heat and serve immediately.
