Simple Homemade Avocado Oil Experiment
Ingredients
- 1 whole avocado (firm, green, and not overripe)
Instructions
-
Warm the avocado
Place the whole avocado directly over a medium-low flame on a gas stove for a few minutes to heat it gently.
Caution: This is a non-traditional method. If overheated, the skin may burn or the avocado could burst. -
Cut and remove the pit
Once warmed, carefully take the avocado off the heat. Slice it in half and remove the seed. -
Extract the oil
Hold the heated avocado halves over a cup or bowl and squeeze or press the flesh to release any oil. Use caution, as the avocado may still be hot.
-
Collect and cool
Pour any collected oil into a clean glass container and allow it to cool completely before using.
Important Note
This technique is more of an experimental, DIY approach than a practical method. It usually produces very little oil, and conventional avocado oil extraction methods are safer, more efficient, and yield a much higher amount of oil.
