No-Bake Dulce de Leche & Maria Cookie Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups (400 ml) very cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 packages Maria cookies
- 14 oz (400 g) dulce de leche
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Whip the cream
- Pour the chilled heavy cream into a mixing bowl.
- Beat on medium-high speed until the cream thickens and becomes firm, but stop before stiff peaks form.
2. Make the dulce de leche cream
- Add the dulce de leche to the whipped cream.
- Continue beating until the mixture is smooth, well combined, and holds firm peaks.
3. Assemble the layers
- Spread a thin layer of the dulce de leche cream mixture on the bottom of your serving dish.
- Arrange a layer of Maria cookies over the cream.
- Cover the cookies with another layer of cream.
- Keep alternating layers of cookies and cream, finishing with a layer of cream on top.
4. Decorate the top
- Crush a few Maria cookies.
- Sprinkle the cookie crumbs evenly over the final cream layer for a simple garnish.
5. Chill before serving
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours.
- Allowing it to rest in the fridge helps the dessert set and lets the flavors meld together.
